Independent engineering consultancy
The engineering team for companies that do not have one.
I run cloud estates, build web applications, and write the automation in between. One senior engineer working directly with you, with no agency layer in the middle.
What I do
Four things, and they usually arrive together. Most people start with one and find the others came with it.
Cloud and infrastructure
Azure estates end to end. Networking, backups and disaster recovery, patching, cost control and security posture. Keeping production running, and making sure somebody actually understands how it works.
Web applications
Ruby on Rails, Python and Django, React and Next.js. New builds, and just as often taking over something another developer started and left behind.
AI and automation
Language model tooling that does real work: assistants wired into your own systems and data, and the automation that removes the steps your team repeats by hand every week.
Keeping it shipping
Deployment pipelines, releases and rollback, code review, and being the person who answers the phone when something breaks at an inconvenient hour.
How I work
I have spent the last few years as the only engineer across an entire production estate: the cloud infrastructure, the application on top of it, the deployment pipelines, and the AI tooling around the edges.
That shapes how I work. I am used to owning a system end to end rather than picking up a ticket at a time, and to being the person accountable when it matters. If you need someone who can hold the whole picture, that is the job I have been doing.
Work is scoped and quoted before it starts. You get direct access to the person doing it, not an account manager.
